3. Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil

It is an essential oil with powerful antiseptic properties that eliminates fungi, bacteria and other microorganisms present in the mouth. Since it is very strong, it is recommended to dilute it in equal parts with water or herbal infusions.

  • Used as a mouthwash, insisting more on the parts where the ulcers are found.
  • After use, wait 20 minutes before consuming any food or drink, as it will continue to work even if the liquid is not in your mouth.
  • Repeat two or three times a day.

4. Aloe vera

It is a powerful antiseptic that also possesses anti-inflammatory, regenerating and moisturizing properties. It is one of the home remedies that cannot be missing at home, both to solve the problem of mouth ulcers and for any skin problem. Best of all, its use is very simple.

  • Cut half an aloe leaf and take the gel from the inside.
  • Apply liberally to the area and let it dry (do not rinse).
  • It can also be mixed with water to make a great mouthwash.

5. Yogurt for mouth ulcers

Natural yogurt mouth ulcers

To be effective, it must be sugar-free and tasteless (eg Greek yogurt). The beneficial bacteria and the milk acid found in this dairy product control the pH of the mouth and at the same time treat canker sores.

  • If you are prone to their occurrence, we recommend that you consume one yogurt a day.
  • If you want to heal a wound, it can be applied directly using a cotton swab and letting it absorb.

6. Baking soda

It is very effective, but at the same time a little painful. However, a  few seconds of discomfort will result in very rapid scarring. Another alternative if you don’t have baking soda is to use fine table salt. There are two options for reaping the benefits of baking soda:

  • Making a dough with water (both ingredients in equal proportions).
  • Diluted in a glass of water for use as a mouthwash.

7. Ice

Before placing it on the skin, it is advisable to wrap it in a canvas or plastic bag, because otherwise it will burn the skin. Bear the cold as much as possible.

8. Hydrogen peroxide for mouth ulcers

Hydrogen peroxide is another home remedy for mouth ulcers that can be very helpful to you. It has antiseptic properties and helps in healing. You can apply hydrogen peroxide with a cotton swab or dilute it with water and use it as a mouthwash.
