They are a set of serious pathologies that end up damaging very important functions. These include movement, balance, speech, breathing or heart rhythm.

They have a strong genetic component, although other factors could be decisive, such as:

  • accumulation of toxins in the body
  • exposure to certain chemicals or pesticides
  • virus

In other cases they may depend on events of a psychological nature, for example an  emotional shock that occurred before the onset of the disease.

The progressive deterioration produced by this type of disease is very hard for the patient, but also for family and friends.

How to prevent neurodegenerative diseases

Here are 7 ways to prevent neurodegenerative diseases or to relieve symptoms and improve mobility if they have already occurred.

1. Avoid exposure to heavy metals

This type of disease is also linked to heavy metal poisoning, especially in the brain. Here’s how we get in touch with it:

  • Consumption of large oily fish such as salmon, tuna or swordfish. It is therefore preferable to eat small blue fish (mackerel, sardines, anchovies, etc.) or white fish.
  • Pollution.
  • Pesticides present in food and the environment.
  • Breakage of objects such as thermometers or light bulbs.
  • Non-drinking water supplied by the aqueduct in some locations.
  • Some medications.
  • Pans and pans made from heavy metals, such as aluminum ones.

2. Purify yourself with chlorella algae

The chlorella seaweed helps us eliminate heavy metals and other toxins that are deposited in the body. However, we must be consistent and follow the treatment for at least three months.

There are other specific supplements based on effective ingredients such as garlic, coriander or magnesium.

3. Keep your brain active

The best way to prevent brain deterioration is to keep it active and avoid laziness.

So, at the first symptoms of lack of memory or concentration, you should, more than ever, start  doing brain exercises.

4. Eat nuts

According to some theories, the shape of the walnut indicates the organ that favors the most: the brain.

Walnuts have a high nutritional value: they are rich in vitamins and minerals, essential fatty acids and fiber. They are therefore able to prevent  oxidative damage to the brain.

5. Medicinal herbal teas

Two plants, in particular, improve the blood and oxygen supply to the brain:

  • Ginkgo biloba. It is very effective, but it is not advisable to take it for more than two consecutive months.
  • Centella asiatica: also known as gotu kola, also suitable for long periods.

We can take the active ingredients in the form of infusions or in capsules or tablets.

6. Aromatherapy

Another way to prevent neurodegenerative diseases is aromatherapy. It is the healing method that is based on the use of quality essential oils; it is useful in a large number of ailments of a physical, mental and emotional nature.

Aromatic oils can be added to diffusers, household cleaning products or cosmetic lotions. Or, again, we can put a few drops on a handkerchief, to put next to the pillow of the bed.

We can choose from the following oils:

  • rosemary
  • lavender
  • thyme
  • sandal
  • basil

7. Rebalance the intestine

The intestine is closely related to the health of the brain, through the bacterial flora. In fact, some studies have shown that those suffering from degenerative disease have an altered bacterial flora.

A balanced diet that includes fermented foods such as yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, or raw vinegar is helpful first. We can also use probiotic-based supplements.

There are many types of probiotics, so those that have a greater quantity and variety of strains are preferred.
