Certain odors accumulate in the kitchen which then move throughout the house, creating an unpleasant environment. Today we suggest some tricks to eliminate bad smells not only from food, but also from the oven, plumbing and refrigerator. In this way the kitchen will acquire a pleasant, clean smell.

Tricks to eliminate bad smells from the kitchen

1. Remove any food residues in the dishes

More than a trick, this is a tip to prevent the drain pipe from becoming clogged or smelling bad.

After each meal, get rid of food remnants before putting plates and cutlery in the sink to wash them.

After washing, clean the residues and grease and pour three glasses of boiling water, mixed with a tablespoon of baking soda  , over the gap  to clean the pipes.

Repeat this process at least once a week.

2. Clean the refrigerator

If the focus of the bad smell in your kitchen is the refrigerator, clean it with water and vinegar .

Make sure you don’t have any rotting food and, after cleaning, put a lemon divided into four wedges.

In addition to absorbing and eliminating bad odors, the lemon will offer a pleasant aroma to the appliance.

It is advisable to  clean the refrigerator often to prevent fungi and bacteria from proliferating

It is common that, after cooking any food, the smell of grease spreads around the house.

For this reason, you need to pour 2 glasses of white vinegar into a pot and put it on the stove after you finish cooking .

The vinegar will absorb greasy odors present in the environment.

After you have finished cooking, you have to wash the pots and pans to prevent them from getting greasy.

If it is difficult to remove the fat, put the pots to boil with water, vinegar and some orange peel.

4. Remove the bad smell from your hands

Some foods can make your hands smell bad, such as onion, garlic or fish.

If this happens to you, you have to rub them with half a lemon :  the annoying smell will be immediately absorbed and removed from your hands.

5. Clean the sponges

By coming into contact with most of the scraps and dirt, the sponges with which we clean plates and cutlery are a hub of bad smells.

Therefore, try to wash them well when you finish the housework and  remove all the remains left on them.

Then, leave them in a place where the sun shines: the UV rays will fight the bacteria  present in them.

6. Clean the microwave oven

Put a lemon divided into four wedges in a glass container with hot water.

Leave it in the microwave for 5 minutes,  the steam will help to dissolve the concentrated fat on the walls and on the door  and will absorb bad odors.

Then wipe with a rag with vinegar to completely clean the microwave.

7. Get rid of the bad smell in the garbage

If it is not yet time to take out the garbage, take some precautions to prevent the bad smell from entering your kitchen.

Put some baking soda in the bottom of the bag  and squeeze a little lemon. This simple pairing will minimize unpleasant odors.

8. Clean the cutting board

9. Always flavor

Place a few coffee beans on a plate and place it on top of the refrigerator  to  envelop the entire space of your kitchen and fill it with its pleasant aroma.

At the same time, you can soak a cotton ball in the vanilla essence and leave it in some corner of the kitchen.

10. Clean while cooking

To prevent dishes and kitchen surfaces from becoming soaked with odors and grease, clean constantly while cooking.

Wash the utensils after using them and then  clean the walls and surfaces with a rag soaked in vinegar to degrease  and prevent staining.
